Traveler of the Month - April 2011

Social work is both a challenging and rewarding occupation. No one knows that more than Cynthia M., a clinical social worker/consultant with 360 Healthcare Staffing, and April’s nursing/leadership traveler of the month. With 16 years of experience, including seven of those teaching social work courses, Cynthia has witnessed first-hand the benefits of social work in the lives of others. Her current responsibilities include crisis intervention, case management and resident-centered advocacy, with the overall goal to prevent or relieve psychosocial distress residents may experience.

As a social worker with 360 Healthcare, Cynthia has enjoyed the opportunity that travel healthcare provides, including working in locations from coast to coast and meeting diverse groups of people. Cynthia has had many rewarding experiences with the people she has counseled, in particular a dialysis patient who, after receiving a transplant, decided to pursue their own career in social work.

When asked how working for 360 Healthcare benefits her career, Cynthia says it’s the continuing education opportunities, hands-on training within facilities, and working on interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal care to residents. Most of all, it’s the opportunity 360 Healthcare has given her to help others.
